Option 1: Install the CLI tools and use your own editor

Install the .NET Core SDK. Once that is installed, you can begin using F#!

Visual Studio 2017 for Windows is tightly coupled with Windows OS because of technologies used to build it (C and COM, WPF etc). So that version will?never? Be ported to MacOSX or Linux. Launch Visual Studio Code. Open the Command Palette (⇧⌘P) and type ‘shell command‘ to find the Shell Command: Install ‘code' command in the PATH command. Now, if you have created any project that goes into that folder and hit the following command to open that project into the Visual Studio Code. For Mac OSX: There is a way to install Visual Studio Code through Brew-Cask. First, install 'Homebrew' from here. Now run following command and it will install latest Visual Studio Code on your Mac. $ brew cask install visual-studio-code. Above command should install Visual Studio Code and also set up the command-line calling of Visual Studio. For the development of each programming language, there are multiple IDE (Integrated Development Environment) available.

Create a file called hello.fsx that looks like this:

Now compile and run this F# script with the following command:

If this is your first time using .NET Core, there will be a short, one-time message about using the .NET SDK. After that, you'll see the following output in your console:

To create a project use

You will see a message saying 'Hello World from F#'.

Option 2: Install Visual Studio Code and Ionide

Visual Studio Code is a free, open source, cross platform source code editorsupporting a lot of languages.F# is supported by the Ionide project.

  1. Install .NET Core SDK like in step 1.

  2. Install Visual Studio Code for macOS.

  3. Press Cmd+Shift+P and enter the following to install the Ionide package for VS Code.

You can also install the plugin from the plugin pane on the left-hand side.

Ionide works best if you use the .NET CLI to create your projects. You can learn more in Get Started with F# in Visual Studio Code.


Option 3: Install Visual Studio for Mac

Visual Studio for Mac is a free IDE for general purpose development. It supports a wide range of projects that you can use F# with.

Option 4: Install JetBrains Rider

Mac os x yosemite vdi download. JetBrains Rider is a cross-platform .NET IDE built using IntelliJ and ReSharper technology. It offers support for .NET and .NET Core applications on all platforms.

Option 5: Build F# from source

You can build and contribute to the F# compiler and library from the source if that is your preference.

Install
  1. Press Command+Space and type Terminal and press enter/return key.
  2. Run in Terminal app:
    ruby -e '$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)' < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null
    and press enter/return key.
    If the screen prompts you to enter a password, please enter your Mac's user password to continue. When you type the password, it won't be displayed on screen, but the system would accept it. So just type your password and press ENTER/RETURN key. Then wait for the command to finish.
  3. Run:
    brew cask install visual-studio-code

Done! You can now use Visual Studio Code.

Why native color picker?

  1. Works very fast because it's built-in into macOS.
  2. The eyedropper can also be used outside VS Code.
  3. Keeps favorite colors, which can be reused in other applications.
  4. Lots of modes (HSB, web-safe colors etc) and other useful stuff.

Installation

Click Install on the Marketplace, or run from the command palette (Cmd-Shift-P): Canon g3010 driver for mac.

Usage

Run Open macOS Color Picker from the command palette (Cmd-Shift-P) to launch the color picker. It is highly recommended to configure a keybinding, such as Cmd-Shift-C (see how to do this).

If a color is selected, the extension will pass it into the color picker. The following notations are supported:

  • CSS keywords, for example: transparent, black, red (but not currentcolor).
  • 6 digit hex codes, for example: #FFF, #563D7C.
  • 8 digit hex codes, for example: #563D7CAB(see note below).
  • rgb() / rgba() notations, for example:
    • rgb(255, 255, 255)
    • rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5)(see note below)
  • hsl() / hsla() notations, for example:
    • hsl(360, 100%, 50%)
    • hsla(360, 100%, 50%, 0.5)(see note below)
  • hwb() notation, for example: hwb(60, 3%, 60%)

Note: the color picker currently cannot change the alpha channel value (opacity). This may change in the future releases.
